Event Details

Folks, finally we are out of February and into warmer weathers in March. Hope you all have been enjoying the early spring. IWUG is back with another awesome session this March. We are also back to IWUG’s original meeting location. So, no more having to climb 4 flights of stairs when the elevator stops working.

According to Wikipedia, Disaster Recovery is defined as “the process, policies and procedures related to preparing for recovery or continuation of technology infrastructure critical to an organization after a natural or human-induced disaster.

Disaster recovery planning is a subset of a larger process known as business continuity planning and should include planning for resumption of applications, data, hardware, communications (such as networking) and other IT infrastructure.”

We choose this topic since it’s been requested on many of the evaluations you have provided us with, as well as an overwhelming response by every one of you present at the last meeting.

We picked two of the best companies that provide the tools required for dealing with disaster recovery preparedness and they will provide you with technical insight of how their tools work and how you can plan on using them in your organizations.

6:30 – 6:45 Introduction/ IWUG Announcements / Speaker Intro

At NetApp, our disaster recovery solution is based on a unified storage architecture that combines flexibility and robustness to meet varying service levels. And you can do more than just disaster recovery to maximize your return on investment by using replicated data for DR testing, data distribution, and development and test.
